This book is a continuation of Conservation Area Series, published by the Zoological Survey, and documents the faunal diversity of Singhori Wildlife Sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh. The document is the outcome of the exploratory surveys of the sanctuary and the detailed studies on various fauna collected, recorded or sighted. Besides the general features pertaining to the physiography, climate, vegetation / forest types, etc. of the sanctuary have also been briefly accounted for in the document. The book, containing 23 chapters on various faunal groups, deals with altogether 636 species comprising 272 vertebrates and 364 invertebrates, illustrated with species-wise diagnostic characters, occurrence, and geographic distribution in India and abroad. The photographs of some of the fauna are also provided wherever possible. This document forms the first, consolidated, base-line data work on the fauna of Singhori Wildlife Sanctuary.
