About this book

Language: French

The Eocene is a period of the Tertiary which shows an important diversity of fossil molluscs. In the Paris Basin, it has delivered hundreds of species of these shells, much to the delight of palaeontologists and collectors. Who has not heard of the Damery-Fleury-la-Rivière (Marne) deposit? In this special issue of the French magazine Fossiles, specialists of this fauna deal with several aspects of the study of gastropods and bivalves, such as the revelation under UV light of their residual colour patterns, the contribution of these molluscs to the reconstitution of the Lutetian seas, some giants specimens, and a visit to an original museum: La Cave aux Coquillages.

An indispensable work illustrated with hundreds of colour photographs.
