Fieldwork plays an important part in any geography, biology or environmental studies course. Presenting the results in an appropriate manner may be as important as the data itself. There are already a number of texts offering guidance on setting up fieldwork investigations and the different techniques of data collection: Methods of Presenting Fieldwork Data demonstrates the diversity of methods for presenting such data.
Aimed at practising teachers and A-level geographers, it will encourage confidence in the use ofthe various techniques and enable students to use their imagination in selecting the most appropriate techniques for the type of data they have collected. Students who wish to further their fieldwork analysis by the use of simple but relevant statistical techniques should consult the companion volume Methods of Statistical Analysis of Fieldwork Data by the same authors and published by the Geographical Association.
