This work contains the proceedings of the 8th International Meeting of the Society of Avian Paleontology and Evolution. This meeting took place from 11th to 16th June 2012 at the Natural History Museum Vienna, Austria, and was organised and hosted by
Ursula Göhlich (NHMW, Vienna). Fifty-two participants from 19 countries attended the quadrennial meeting and presented 40 oral talks and 10 posters covering a wide range of topics in paleornithology. See table of contents for the topics covered.
