The PIXFRA Ranger R4 thermal imagining monocular series offers fantastic performance, with an advanced 384×288, 12µm, <30mK NETD thermal sensor, 1440 x 1080 display, and advanced processing algorithms that provide crisp and clear imagery. The 50kHZ frame rate ensures that the image is smooth and fluid, and even fast moving animals such as bats will be caught in the view. An adjustable dioptre allows the manual adjustment of the focus to keep the image comfortably tailored to the user's eyesight, while the six colour palettes (Black Hot, White Hot, Iron Red, Sepia, Green Hot, and Alarm) allow the user to tailor the experience to changing conditions and their own preference.
Still images and video can be recorded at the push of a button, and with the capacity to accept an SD card of up to 256GBs, storage is of no concern. This series features impressive range and 1x, 2x, 4x, and 8x digital magnification, making it ideal for recording thermal images at a distance. The built-in WiFi module allows the user to connect their phone and view the feed remotely (within wifi range), and multiple devices can even in connected for group viewing. The stadiametric range finder can be used to measure distances, better informing decisions made during the hours of darkness. A battery life of up to 7.5 hours (depending on temperature) ensure that it will last for lengthy surveys or recording sessions, and an external power source can be added for additional battery life.
The Ranger R4 weighs in at less than 400 grams and comes in a compact package, making it perfect for taking out into the field. Furthermore it is IP67 rated, meaning it is entirely dustproof, can survive imersion in water up to 1m for up to half an hour, and has survived a 2m drop test, so it is more than able to withstand even the harshest conditions. An operating temperature range of -30℃ – +50℃ ensures that it will be suitable for almost any circumstance.
There are two models in the R4 series.
