Salhesh Phulbari, in Siraha district, Nepal, covers a small area of about 8 hectares but is rich in plant diversity and is a good repository of tree species. A five-year management work plan with a detailed feasibility study, landscape design and cost estimation has been prepared by the Department of Plant Resources from the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation, Government of Nepal, and is under implementation.
The main objective of this book is to provide detailed information so that a lay person, even without any specialized knowledge, could identify the maximum number of plant species from Salhesh Phulbari, Siraha. The economic and medicinal values are described in the book. The book includes detailed information on 82 taxa belonging to 71 genera and 45 families, including 1 subspecies new to Nepal. The work can act as important reference material to a wide range of readers, teachers and students, planners and policy makers, naturalists and conservationists.
