About this book

Since the first edition of this handbook was published in 1974, seven new species of Psocoptera have been recorded in Britain.

In this revised handbook, a general introduction to the classification, relationships, biology and external morphology of the Psocoptera is followed by notes on their collection and study. An updated checklist of species recorded from the British Isles includes 98 species, with representatives of 19 families. Keys to all families, genera and species, together with diagnostic illustrations, are provided to facilitate identification, and comment provided also on non-British species which may cause confusion.
