Swarovski SLC Binoculars have been the first choice of many wildlife observers for decades, being both sturdy and providing outstanding optical performance. The range is constantly being improved and developed, and the meticulous Swarovski quality control ensures that the SLC remains a top quality general purpose range of binoculars. The optical performance is maintained by HD fluoride lenses that provide natural colour rendition and razor sharp image outlines as a result of reduced chromatic aberration and minimised colour fringing. The optics are further improved by the enhanced lens and phase prism coatings, SWAROBRIGHT, SWAROPTOP and SWARODUR, for noticeably better colour reproduction and light transmission. The SWAROBRIGHT coating provides maximum colour fidelity across the whole spectrum, whereas SWAROTOP and SWARODUR are coatings that ensure bright, high contrast images, reducing surface light reflection from 4-6% to 0.2% .The SWAROCLEAN coating on the outer surface of the lens provides a non-stick effect to make it easier to clean away impurities such as water marks.
The Swarovski SLC range has been designed with a large field of view with edge to edge sharpness for greater image definition in low light, due to the wide angle eyepiece, ensuring excellent performance at dusk and dawn. The extended eye relief ensures that this field of view is maintained for wearers of spectacles. The rugged construction and perfectly balanced magnesium housing has been further improved with redesigned grips in the rubber armouring for greater viewing comfort and a more secure hold. This means that long observations become more comfortable with less fatigue, keeping your reactions sharp and allowing you to observe more. The reliable, accurate focusing mechanism is easy to use, even with gloves and there is a tripod thread connection so that you can mount the binoculars on a tripod for extra stability.
