&i;Threatened Plants of Central and South Chile&o; is the result of a three year intensive study by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and the University of Valdivia of some of Chile's most threatened plant species. The major part of the book gives up to date information on the distribution, habitat, identification, conservation and propagation of 46 threatened species. To aid accurate identification, each species is accompanied by high quality colour photographs. Chapters also include an analysis of the major plant conservation threats in Chile and basic propagation techniques that can be used to propagate the threatened species.
This beautifully designed model account includes important new information which will not only be of great interest to botanists, conservationist and horticulturists but also to local people who are dependent on the diminishing natural habitats in central and southern Chile.
