About this book

The family Apocynaceae has recently been much expanded to include the Asclepiadaceae. The Apocynaceae in the traditional sense now comprises two of the five subfamilies: Rauvolfioideae and Pocynoideae. In Malesia there are 43 native genera and 295 species in these two subfamilies.

The introductory pages give general information, e.g. distribution, ecology, taxonomy, morphology, chromosomes, uses, anatomy and pollen. Keys to the subfamilies, genera, species and infraspecific taxa are given. All taxa are described and many are illustrated.

A digital key on CD-ROM with illustrations and photographs in the LUCID-PHOENIX programme is also included.
