First detailed floristic account of Anshi National park (ANP) of Karnataka State which is a part of recently declared Dandeli Anshi Tiger Reserve (DATR) situated at southern end of the Northern Western Ghats. A total of 923 species, 3 subspecies and 5 varieties belonging to 570 genera under 127 families of flowering plants have been recorded and described. Six maps and 990 colour photographs in 132 photo plates are provided. Endemic plants 260 in number have been recorded and their ecological aspects are addressed. Nine new taxa have been described during the floristic survey of ANP including 2 newly proposed in the present flora. Updated nomenclature of flowering plants along with synonyms, relevant citations, local names detailed taxonomic descriptions, phenology, ecological notes and nomenclatural notes are provided. Observations on plant animal interactions are also dealt in detail. Medicinal and economic usage of most of the plant species from ANP are documented. Checklists of different faunal forms like Mammals, Birds, reptiles, frogs, butterflies, etc. are provided. This flora (brought out in 2011 which has been declared as the international year of forests by the United Nations General Assembly) will be useful to professional botanists, ecologists, environmentalists, foresters, agriculturists, economists, sociologists, industrialists, students and teachers of biology and the persons interested in flowering plants of Western Ghats in general and Anshi National Park in particular.
