Saheed Chandra Shekhar Azad Bird sanctuary in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh covers about 2.4 km2 area. Its flora comprises 243 plant species belonging to 172 genera and 71 families, along with two pteridophytes. The diverse hydrophytic floral components of the water body play vital role in preventing lake erosion and maintaining the ecological parameters of the aquatic ecosystem. This book provides an introduction to the sanctuary with a list of the array of birds both resident and migratory. A list of cryptogams and faunal components (Appendix I & II) is also appended in order to
provide a complete overview of the sanctuary biodiversity and depicting the floral and faunal interdependence. The floristic account includes the correct nomenclature, citations, local names, brief descriptions of the taxa with colour photographs for easy identification and uses, if any.
