This volume covers the family Dioscoreacea, which comprises four genera and 400-600 species The genera are Dioscorea L., with all but 15-20 of the species and the much smaller Tacca (10-15 species), Trichopus Gaertn. (two species) and Stenomeris Planch, (two species found in Borneo and The Philippines. All but the latter occur in Thailand, but none are endemic.
