This booklet provides a visual-only field guide, without further accompanying text, to 26 species of big cats found in the Indomalayan realm (one of the eight recognised biogeographic realms, extending across most of South and Southeast Asia and into the southern parts of East Asia). A distribution map based on IUCN data and an illustration by renowned nature artist Tomasz Cofta is provided for each species, with multiple images showing colour and pelage morphs where appropriate. The inside of the front cover gives a taxonomic list of the illustrated species, while the inside of the back cover shows a size comparison between different representatives of these groups.
Francesco Nardelli is the former curator of Howletts & Port Lympne Wildlife Parks (United Kingdom), has worked with 29 species/subspecies of Felidae and observed a number of them in other breeding centres and in their countries of origin.
Tomasz Cofta is an ornithologist and acclaimed nature artist specialised in bird illustrations.
