About this book

Please note that these are print-on-demand books, which could mean up to five weeks delivery time once ordered.

Ireland’s First is the epic story of the first pair of white tailed sea eagles to have successfully bred in Ireland for over one hundred years. After nest failure the year before, when the author began to document this fantastic story, he returned to Mountshannon mid-February 2013 for this exciting and historic event. Initially, the author came down to film their mating displays – where the eagles fly high into the sky and then clasp talons while cartwheeling to the ground.

The author filmed, photographed and documented every day for more than six months. The birds were captured building the nest, mating, fishing and many more things besides. This story is a huge insight to these magnificent birds and this book will help you see what these birds have had to endure to make it the success story it is.

100 Years 100 Photos is a selection of Nigel's favourite photos, to celebrate the success of the White Tailed Sea Eagles of Lough Derg, documented in Ireland's First This book has over 100 fabulous photos of the adults and the chicks, all in full colour.
