About this book

The Perivale Wood Local Nature Reserve is situated in the London Borough of Ealing in the Watsonian Vice-county of Middlesex. The reserve sits across the parish boundaries of Perivale (strictly Greenford Parva) and Greenford (strictly Greenford Magna). It is a Local Nature Reserve and one of the oldest nature reserves in the UK. The reserve is owned and operated by the Selborne Society (a registered charity) and not generally open to the public except on one day a year.

Lepidoptera of Perivale Wood deals with the Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) of the reserve based a variety of formal and informal surveys carried out over the past 50 or so years. The complete Lepidoptera fauna of the reserve can never be known, there will always be species passing through or establishing new permanent or temporary populations and past records may represent species no longer present.

The second edition has been updated to take account for records up to 2015 and incorporate additional historic data which came to light after the publication of the first edition.
