About this book

Language: English

From the preface:

"Since its inception, the Regional Plant Resource Centre, India, has been engaged in gerrnplasm collection and ex situ conservation of medicinal and aromatic plants, besides research on species and genetic diversity assessment, chemical characterization, clonal propagation and related aspects. Over the years, the Centre has amassed a rich germplasm collection of important medicinal plants numbering about 300 as an ex situ conservation measure and for awareness creation. Authentic planting materials are being made available to individuals and entrepreneurs for cultivation.

This booklet is a pictorial identification manual for 300 common medicinal plants used in home remedies and traditional systems of medicine, and contains useful information on their botanical and common names and diseases for which they are used. It is hoped that the booklet will be of help to students of botany, ISM, foresters, research workers and common man alike to ascertain the correct identity of the species they are interested in."
