About this book

The mineral collection of the Royal Museum for Central Africa (Tervuren, Belgium) is one of three specimen collections that are held by its Geology department, the others being rock and fossil collections. In this book, the nature and history of the mineral collection are presented, including an overview of its use for exhibition and research. Preceded by a section providing some geological background information, the second part of the publication contains a presentation of mineral groups that are relevant for Central Africa, illustrated by a selection of specimens belonging to the collection.
