About this book

This book is an exact facsimile copy of the sought after and very expensive first edition (1862) of Darwin's work on orchids. The hardback edition is limited to 1000 copies worldwide, all of which are numbered. The book has been produced in the UK using traditional methods of binding. The hardback is bound in cloth and both hardback and paperback are stitched and glued. This fascinating account of the contrivances by which the elaborate flowers of orchids are fertilised is the result of observations by the author in their place of growth along with numerous experiments he undertook at his home in Kent.
