The Opticron MM4 series provides the perfect scope solution for travelling birdwatchers and naturalists. The body is ultra compact, lightweight and offers exceptional images with edge-to-edge sharpness. The Opticron MM4 can even be used without a tripod at magnifications below 20x. It has a high performance HDF fully multi-coated 50 or 60mm ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass objective lens, wide field of view to aid in surveying distant animals, and high colour contrast across the magnification range. The MM4 also has excellent close focus of 2.5 / 3.5m, meaning it is suitable for much closer magnification work with insects. The centrally positioned dual focuser features an easy-to-use 8:1 wheel to aid accurate focusing at top end magnifications when depth of focus is reduced.
The MM4 body is constructed from polycarbonate and lightweight alloys with a universal 1/4" thread at the base of the tripod sleeve for connection to a tripod when focusing at higher magnifications. The tripod adapter also has +/- 90° rotation. The MM4 is fully waterproof and dust proof and is protected by a full-body rubber covering as well as a removable rubber objective lens cover.
It is available in a straight-through or 45° angled version and is compatible with all metric threaded Opticron HR, HDF and SDL eyepieces.
