About this book

Language: French

Plantes Médicinales Caribéennes is the first illustrated book that deals with this flora, bridging popular knowledge and scientific research. Presented in three volumes, it describes 300 medicinal plants and their botanical, chemical, and pharmacological aspects, and describes its uses but also defines the limits of these herbal medicines. A brief description of the disease and treatments made to them within the meaning of the Creole culture, will put these popular remedies in their sociocultural context and thus help to understand their significance. In this third volume one hundred of the plants most used in the Caribbean countries are presented.
