The PrimeScan Slide Scanner is designed for rapid scanning of prepared slides. Images are then saved digitally to your computer in the format of your choice: choose between TIFF, BMP or JPEG. It is suitable for all types of microscopy applications including histology, cytology, botany and zoology, and is capable of scanning any transparent specimen which is mounted on a standard sized 1 x 3 inch (25 x 75mm) microscope slide with cover slip. Images produced are equivalent to x75 magnification and 10,000 dpi and have a high dynamic range (3.8 OD) allowing you to easily identify individual cells.
The scanner comes with a hardware driver and HistoView, a software package which is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems and which lets you view and adjust your images on your PC or laptop. Software is compatible with Windows XP, 7 and 8 or Mac OS X 10.5 to 10.8. The PrimeScan Scanner is powered from the mains using the power adapter provided.
