About this book

Please note: in contrast to the previous three books, which included DVDs, this last volume initially came with a USB memory stick. The December 2020 reprint run omits this memory stick and includes links to free downloads of over two hours of highly informative footage with running notes (see the list below). Those customers who still require the USB memory stick will have to purchase this separately by contacting the publisher directly at live2seabird@gmail.com after purchasing this book.

This part of the guide is the last in the series and covers the shearwaters. The guide has over 430 pages of detailed and original text and over 550 colour photos, some full-page, the vast majority previously unpublished. Renowned bird artist and illustrator John Gale has contributed over 150 colour illustrations. The large-format colour range maps are based on the latest geolocator and observational studies, with over 500 references indicating extensive research.

Volume 4 of this multimedia identification guide covers the following species: Great Shearwarer, Buller’s Shearwater, Sooty Shearwater, Short-tailed Shearwater, Flesh-footed Shearwater, Wedge-tailed Shearwater, Cory’s Shearwater, Scopoli’s Shearwater, Cape Verde Shearwater, Streaked Shearwater, Persian Shearwater, Manx Shearwater, Yelkouan Shcarwaler, ‘Menorcan Shearwater’, Balearic Shearwater, Barolo Shearwater, Boyd’s Shearwater, Audubon’s Shearwater, Jouanin’s Petrel, and White-chinned Petrel.
