About this book

The QuickTide charts allow for quick and intuitive determination of tide times for a particular date and place. QuickTide South East covers the coast of South-East England and Belgium to Cherbourg.

Consult the tables to determine a date code shown on the front, consult the map on the front to determine the colour code for the coastal section you are interested, turn the disk and align the date and colour code to get approximate tide time. There is no need to do calculations. The tidal predictions are derived from data computed by the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory of the UK National Oceanography Centre. A table with important phone numbers such as emergency services, breakdown services and public transport is included. The 2024/2025 QuickTides all now include green springtide beach-space and estuary-flood-risk predictions.

This chart is useful for sailors, bird watchers, beach visitors, surfers, kite surfers, open-water swimmers, coastal walkers, canoeists, metal detectorists, photographers, anglers, caravaners, fossil collectors, campers, divers, mudlarks and any other visitors to Britain's coastal sites
