About this book

Language: Hebrew

413 plant species, some endemic, are endangered in Israel, including 36 species extinct since the 1960s. This book presents comprehensive information about these species, including global and local distribution, biogeographical and systematic aspects, conservation status and recommendations for management. A distribution map and photograph of the plant accompany the text. Each plant is given a Red Number, determined by six quantitative criteria. This provides a scientific basis for determining policy and setting conservation priorities.
