About this book

Language: Spanish

This book deals with the ethnobotanical uses of oaks, cork oaks, holly oaks and Portuguese oaks, from a historical and European perspective, integrating the various branches of knowledge, both natural and social sciences.

Based on this omnipresence of oaks in all European territories, the author wanted to give a personal view of the meaning of the oaks for humans, from many vantage points and areas of knowledge, always with a view to its closest geographical and cultural surroundings, Galicia. This is an area rich in ancestral traditions, typical of the archaism of the Iberian northwest, for which it is known not in the Iberian Peninsula but in the whole of Europe.
