About this book

Language: German

Volume 4 of the Red List is the second part of Germany's updated nationwide Red List of invertebrates. It comprises 17 groups of animals: drain flies, sandflies, solitary or trickle midges, meniscus midges and phantom midges or glassworms (Chaoboridae), all part of Diptera; caddisflies (Trichoptera); ground beetles and water scavenger beetles (part of Coleoptera); cicadas (Auchenorrhyncha); millipedes and centipedes (Myriapoda); freshwater isopods (Isopoda); branchiopods (Branchiopoda); spiders, harvestmen and pseudoscorpions, all arachnids (Arachnida); as well as earthworms from the group of Oligochaeta.

The Red Lists of most groups provide additional valuable information for nature conservation practice, for example information on the current risk situation and changes in the red list categories, or on the responsibility of Germany for the worldwide conservation of species. In addition, all Red Lists contain total species lists with the established species in Germany, including Neobiota. Volume 4 contains a total of over 3,600 taxa.
