As an alternative to the Schwegler Swift Observation Box 15, the Schwegler Swift Observation Box 14 is designed to be screwed to the inside of an external wall. A tube provides a passage for the birds through the wall and any insulation (maximum distance 350 mm). The outside entrance is covered with a plate which, alternatively, can be incorporated in the rendering. The plate has an entrance hole of 30 x 70mm. Activity inside the box is seen by opening the observation flap looking through the clear plastic inner wall (which can be removed for cleaning). A Nest Mould, which encourages nesting, is also included.
Siting: Ideal for unheated rooms, roof spaces, elevator shafts, etc. The access hole through the wall for the birds' entrance needs to be only 100mm diameter.
