This passive acoustic recording device is built for extremes. Specifically designed for ultra-endurance continuous monitoring in remote and hard-to-access places, whether in sub-zero temperatures or remote deserts. It is the perfect choice for researchers and ecological professionals who need to record seasons' worth of data in locations that are not always easily accessed.
The top-mounted 10W monocrystalline solar panel with a unique mounting plate and variable pivot allows the user to adjust the mounting angle to allow for optimum charging of the 12V 7.2Ah onboard battery. Even without any sunlight, the recorder can operate for approximately 1000 hrs (41 days) of continuous recording. The built-in solar controller and battery charger are optimised for super-quiet performance to ensure optimal acoustic recording
A simple design with no external cables means an easy set-up, simply connect your chosen microphone and close the lid to the lockable case made from tough UV-resistant plastic. The case has space for silica desiccant sachets to ensure any condensation is absorbed before it can affect the device.
Choose from two highly sensitive, low-noise omnidirectional microphones which record to any or all selected 4 x SD card slots. All microphones have a 20dB class A pre-amp and cable driver plus an internal memory chip allowing the recorder to automatically log the microphones’ serial number and manufacture date for every recording you make, automatically tracking the age of your microphones.
Standard frequency microphone: Wide frequency response (+-2dB from 80Hz to 20kHz) suits birds, frogs and many mammals.
Low frequency microphone: Low frequency response. Ideal for mammals with low-frequency calls such as elephants and koalas.
The solar bar has a built-in GPS which automatically time-syncs and GEO-stamps your recordings. Choose from either continuously recording or scheduling your listening pattern Using the supplied software.
