Tascam DR-40x Portable Handheld Recorder

About this product

The Tascam Dr-40x is a high quality, portable handheld recording device, Featuring two in-built condenser microphones as well as stereo XLR/TRS mic/line in inputs, the DR-40x's compact size and easy operation make it ideal as a standalone recorder for capturing wildlife sound.  Addtionally it's inbuilt phantom power capabilties allow users to power an external microphone.

The Dr-40x will record in WAV or MP3, up to 96 kHz / 24 bit and has an updated user interface making key operations such as recording and adjusting levels just a quick thumb press away. A built in speaker lets you play back your recordings in the field and a line-out socket lets you listen through headphones. The on board microphones are easily adjustable from an X-Y pattern for a tighter stereo image to an A-B pattern from a wider ambient recording. The dual recording function allows you record two stereo recordings with different levels settings from the built in microphones or external line/mic inputs at the same time.

Three AA batteries will provide upto 18 hours of recording time in the field.
