The African Dung Beetle Genera deals with each of the 101 dung beetle genera known from Africa and provides the first ever comprehensive account of their classification and natural history. It is richly illustrated with colour photographs of species representing the genera, and maps of their geographical distribution. All published biological information on each of the groups is included, as is a large amount of unpublished information gleaned by the authors during a combined total research career spanning over 70 years.
Dr Adrian L.V. Davis has been a specialist in the taxonomy, community ecology, and biogeography of dung beetles for some 35 years. His affiliations include the Australian CSIRO Dung Beetle Research Unit, the University of Cape Town, and the Scarab Research Unit at the University of Pretoria.
Dr Andrey V. Frolov is a staff researcher at the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Saint-Petersburg. His current research interests are mainly focused on the systematics, morphology, and biogeography of several groups of scarab beetles including African dung beetles.
Dr Clarke Scholtz is Professor of Entomology in the Department of Zoology and Entomology at the University of Pretoria. His research interests have mainly focused on the systematics, biology and conservation of dung beetles and their relatives.
