The Shiwalik (or Sivalik) Hills are a mountain range of the outer Himalayas that stretches from the Indus River about 2,400 km eastwards, crossing the Indian states of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. This book describes 87 butterfly species including many new records from the area. Additional material collected from different parts of the Himalayas, the higher ranges of Himachal Pradesh, and the cold desert of the Trans-Himalayas is still incomplete and will be included in a future publication.
