The Luoping and Guanling biota presented in this book lie in Luoping, Yunnan Province, and Guanling, Guizhou Province, China, respectively. The Luoping biota lived in the Middle Triassic, 245 million years ago, and the Guanling biota lived in Late Triassic, 220 million years ago, 25 million years later. In order to fully show the panoramas of these two biotas in the Triassic and gain more knowledge of their palaeontology, the authors have organized the book in two parts: the first one is a general description of the various biological groups, giving readers an integral picture. The second part are the fossil records, showing some photographs and reconstructions. In the second section, they also added information about classification and discoveries, which will both be of interest to readers, and highlight current research achievements.
