From the Foreword:
"Nigel Sitwell's Galapagos: Guide to the Animals and Plants is a welcome and notable addition to the works on this alluring achipelago. Accessibly written yet unique among its genre, this trilingual volume is presented in English, Spanish and German, readily expanding Gal#pagos knowledge to a broad range of readers. Complemented with lovely illustrations by a team of skilled artists, the book holds appeal for beginners and seasoned naturalists alike.

Cogently written sections on Galapagos history, natural history, wildlife and the conservation initiatives headed by the Galapagos National Park Service and the Charles Darwin Foundation provide a concise overview of this storied achipelago. Above all, this guide contributes to our deeper appreciation of why these island treasures must be preserved and restored for present and future generations.

I highly recommend Nigel and his gifted collaborators for creating this splendid volume and am certain that it will be a welcome companion for all who visit and who care about Galapagos flora and fauna.
