About this product

Language: German

Tenerife, with a surface area of some 2050 square kilometer, is the largest of the Canary Islands. The abundance of microclimates, and, consequently, natural habitats, is clearly reflected in the island vegetation, composed of rich and varied flora (1400 species of vascular plants), amongst which several species unique to Tenerife and the Canaries are highlighted.  Sadly, an important part of the endemic flora is currently under serious threat from human activity, such as the uncontrolled development of tourist resorts, the building of new roads and tree-felling of wooded areas.

The aim of this guide-map is to make known the flora of Tenerife, by describing the most important species and by indicating the places where they can be observed. In this way, it is useful on the routes and excursions around the island.
