This guide is also currently the most taxonomically up-to-date reptile and amphibian book available for the State.

It contains over 1,700 images, identifying descriptions, distribution maps, preferred habitat types, optimal observation periods, elevational ranges, similar species and how to distinguish between them, plus notes on subspecies, conservation status and ecology.

And, for those wildlife devotees, 199 vagrant and visitor species that have been recorded in Victoria and its territorial waters.
