Urban Flora of Varanasi describes 710 higher plant species belonging to 454 genera and 129 families of angiosperms found in Varanasi, a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. An effort has been made to provide detailed information on the plants of the regions with reference to their salient features and local uses. Colour photographs of selected plants have been provided at the end of the book. An index to botanical and vernacular names of plants of medicinal importance is also included.
