About this book

Language: Dutch, with multilingual species names in Dutch, English, French and German

Over the last ten years, a lot has changed for the butterflies of northwestern Europe. The yellow-legged tortoiseshell has entered this area from the east without permanently settling here. The southern small white has come in from the south and has become a fixture of garden plots and parks. A completely new guide is thus necessary to identify the butterflies of northwestern Europe. The information about species, the photos, and the distribution maps have been brought up to date. Useful tables are available to rapidly assign a name to a butterfly. For every species, the upper and undersides of the wings are pictures, indicating the most important characters. Habitus photos help identify butterflies in the wild. Any species that have notable eggs, larvae, or pupae are also pictured separately. There are extra tips for those hard-to-identify species.
- Complete for northwestern Europe
- 150 species of butterfly
- Clear characteristics and extra tips for identification

- 150 soorten dagvlinders
- Duidelijke kenmerken en extra tips voor herkenning
