About this book

Language: French

Vincent Munier is a photographer and filmmaker, but above all an unwavering admirer of the wild world. It's a dialogue without words, relying solely on images to express life and beauty. Since his first photograph at the age of 12, which left him trembling with emotion in front of a deer in his childhood forest, his quest has taken him from the Arctic to Antarctica, to the Ethiopian and Tibetan plateaus, to the heart of the volcanoes of Kamchatka and the wide-open spaces of America... only to bring him back to the Vosges, his native land and the crucible of his art.

this elegantly produced book compiles 35 years of photography: 320 images, including the most emblematic ones, and many never-before-seen ones taken in places "where we don't expect him", such as Peru or South Africa. Each image has been finely photoengraved to ensure a faithful rendering. Printing was carried out in France, using an original, made-to-measure process that enhances the images. Two different media were chosen: a pure white designer paper to flatter the photographs, and a lighter, more delicate paper for the text.

Vincent Munier has written two personal texts, at the opening and closing of the book. Sylvain Tesson adds an afterword.
