This book is the first comprehensive account of wetland faunal resources of West Bengal primarily meant for inventory of wetland faunal elements occurring in freshwater, brackishwater and costal ecosystems of the State. This precise and painstaking compilation reflects habital categorise, distributing data, reference and remarks regarding the status of various wetland inhabiting species. Furthermore, major threats, conservation and management issues are briefly discussed to indicate the challenges and to suggest specific apporaches requried for protection and safeguard of wetland environment of this State.
