About this book

Wildflowers of the Lake Mead Region is a full-colour field guide to over 100 of the more common wildflowers, shrubs, and cacti found in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area on the border with Nevada and Arizona, as well as in the surrounding Mohave Desert. Arranged by flower colour, the book includes non-technical descriptions of each plant, its blooming period, and where it is most likely to be found. Photographs illustrate the overall plant, and also close-up photos of flowers, leaves or other plant features useful for identification. The Introduction describes five of the main plant communities present in the area.
