The award-winning Zoo Taiping & Night Safari is Perak’s top tourist attraction and Malaysia’s first night safari. Founded in 1961, the 34-acre zoo is located within the famous Taiping Lake Gardens and is run by the Taiping Municipal Council. The zoo features 1,500 animals from 130 species in exhibits resembling their natural habitats. As a wildlife conservation centre, Zoo Taiping & Night Safari has successfully bred 14 endangered wildlife species, including the Malayan tiger, the Malaysian elephant and the milky stork.
