Language: English with species lists in Dutch and English
The 2021 reprint has some minor amendments and some new maps.
This is a guide to the best bird sites in the Netherlands, featuring over 100 sites with access details, colour maps, and GPS coordinates. Colour photographs show both sites and birds. The descriptions of habitats and species include advice on finding wintering flocks of geese, breeding and migrant waders, and sought-after specialities such as Lesser White-fronted Goose, White-tailed Eagle, Honey Buzzard, Eagle Owl, Purple Heron, Spoonbill, Black and Whiskered Tern, Middle Spotted and Black Woodpecker, Icterine Warbler and Bluethroat. Two final features are bilingual species lists in Dutch and in English and suggested itineraries for short breaks.
"[...] The book is more than just an introduction to the birds of The Netherlands. It offers a lot of detailed information, many of the interesting species being treated in the text very well, with good coverage of the multiple sites where they can be found. [...]"
