About this book

This AIDGAP identification key is designed to allow non-specialists to identify the majority of British macroscopic (larger am 1 cm) brown seaweeds in the field, most to species level where this is possible without a microscope.

Littoral, sublittoral and rare species are all included. A full glossary is appended, and numerous thumbnail sketches a incorporated into the text to help ease-of-use. All plants are fully illustrated and an introductory section describing the ecology of the brown seaweeds will help interpreting patterns of distribution on the seashore.
