Biography

Indraneil Das studied at the Universities of Calcutta and Oxford, receiving a doctoral degree in zoology from the latter institution in 1991. He was a Fulbright Fellow at Harvard University, and a Research Fellow at Universiti Brunei Darussalam. At present, he is Associate Professor at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, and Editor of the herpetological journal, Hamadryad. Indraneil Das is author of a number of other titles including Snakes and Other Reptiles of India (New Holland) books on the turtles of India, of Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo, a work on the biogeography of the reptiles of southern Asia, and one on ethnoherpetology.
