    The flowers are divided into colours and yet the "Red Lily" appears in the section for yellow flowers. within those divisions, the flowers are listed in alphabetic order of their common names which results in similar species being separated. This hampers identification of similar species.
    The photographs can be distant views of a plant which does not help with identification.
    The range of plants is far from comprehensive. A recent trip to the Julian alps left us with many plant species which we could not identify.
    In summary, this book has helped with identifying a few plants but has left many unidentified.

Biography

After a degree in Anthropology and working in adult education, Gillian Price travelled through Asia and trekked the Himalaya. Eventually settling in Venice, she now works as a freelance travel writer. Gillian is steadily exploring all the mountain ranges and flatter parts of Italy, and has produced a series of outstanding guides for Cicerone. She is an active member of the Italian Alpine Club CAI and Mountain Wilderness.
