Prof. Balfour-Browne's 3-volume work was completed in 1950, and remains one of the classic texts on the water beetles of Britain, despite being long out of print.

Pisces Conservation are pleased to have worked in collaboration with the Ray Society, the original publishers of the books, to re-issue them in electronic form.

All 3 volumes are now available on a single CD, for Windows PCs and Macs, with fully searchable text and hyperlinks for ease of navigation.

The quality of reproduction of illustrations and text is excellent.

The books are in Adobe Acrobat pdf format (with free Reader software supplied), allowing high-quality printing of the text and plates.
