In recent decades, research on water circulation of the western North Pacific and its margins has received great attention from the Chinese state and oceanographic community, resulting in a series of important achievements. With the development of marine science and technology, these achievements have become more and more valuable for furthering the research in this field and influencing research in related fields.
This is the third volume in a planned series of four books, the first two of which were written in Chinese. They compile the research of Yuechu Yuan who has published over 200 papers in the period from 1980 to 2017. These papers reflect the significant advances in research on the ocean circulation in the northwestern Pacific Ocean.
