Les Bryophytes de France

This French-language series is devoted to the bryophytes of France, a reference long-awaited by botanists. With 1320 species, France is the country in Europe that is home to the richest bryoflora and yet no recent work has been devoted to it. This series aims to allow all naturalists to name all the species of mosses, liverworts and hornworts encountered in the metropolitan area.

Illustrated identification keys allow access to the different taxonomic ranks: families, genera, and species. After a general description of each family, the species are the subject of a complete record: description, chorology, altitudinal spread, distribution, advice for identification in the field, habitats, syntaxons and sociology, etc. The work benefits from an abundant and original iconography, each species is presented in its habitat, but microscopic criteria are illustrated (spores, sections of leaves / tillers).
