The BG-GAT Passive Gravid Aedes Trap is an essential piece of equipment when studying Tiger mosquitos in the field. The trap is comprised of a multi-layer system where water and an attractant are used to draw mosquitos into the trap. Once they have entered the trap mosquitos are prevented from leaving by a clear barrier, on which can be applied insecticide, oil or another substance. Dead mosquitos are collected on a mesh above the water level.
